It Has Been 25 Years Already!

Recently we celebrated my mom's 76th birthday, with the usual cake, ice cream, gifts and friends and family. This year was a little bit different because we also took pictures of my mom and I.

26 years ago, my mom and I went to the Mall of America to have our pictures taken, to mark the fact that she was 50 and I was 25. We had a wonderful time, getting our hair and makeup done and picking out our wardrobe, for each picture.

During the photo shoot, we talked about the fact that when I turn 50 and she turns 75, we will have to come back and do it all again. Oh, how the time flies, as I did, in fact, turn 50 last year and mom turned 75.

Unfortunately, we were not able to make the trip to the Mall of America this time but decided we would just have my daughter take some fun pictures of us to mark the date. Take a peek at the perfect 80's look from our first picture;

As my daughter was setting us up for each shot, we tried to recreate the pose and look from our original. There was much laughter while my daughter tried to get our heads to turn in just the right direction. We did not succeed with getting the pictures exact, but we did get a nice picture.

My mom and I truly enjoyed our time and we made sure to print out copies to hang next to the old one. Here is the current version of our picture.
