There’s no doubt that Thanksgiving is the holiday that is probably the most associated with food. From delicious roasted turkeys to savoury stuffing and yummy apple pies, stomachs get stuffed and everybody gobbles during this food-filled holiday.
However, it must be remembered that Thanksgiving is more than just the food. Thanksgiving is not only just what’s on the plate, but more importantly about being thankful for what’s on your plate. In other words, Thanksgiving is about being thankful for everything in your life. I don’t know about you, but one thing that I’m thankful for this thanksgiving is beautifully themed flags. If you feel the same way, here are a few thanksgiving flag ideas to let you show how thankful you are.
Thanksgiving has a long and interesting history just like any other holiday. You have probably have been familiarized with the origins of Thanksgiving when you were a child in school. The basic story of Thanksgiving consists of when the pilgrims came to North America from Europe and the native Americans taught them how to survive in the new world through means of farming and hunting.
A great harvest feast was therefore held and so came into being the holiday of Thanksgiving. This colourful story can be incorporated on a thanksgiving flag through means of associated symbols such as pilgrims, native Americans, ships (such as the mayflower or other transport ships that were used to cross the seas and bring pioneers from Europe to North America) and so on.
Fall is a beautiful time of year regardless of the holidays associated with it. As a result, fall-themed images will make an ideal addition to any Thanksgiving flag. Such images can include red, yellow, orange and brown coloured leaves, a cornucopia, pumpkins, squashes, corn, apples, chestnuts, and acorns. Also, certain animals like turkeys and squirrels can add a touch of autumn flair to a thanksgiving flag.
Bring on the feast! As I have mentioned above, and as a well-known fact, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be a holiday without food. For your Thanksgiving flag, you can include pictures of a traditional harvest dinner which can involve roasted turkeys, potatoes in multiple forms, apple and/or pumpkin pie, stuffing, bread, roasted corn, cranberry sauce, baked beans, and whatever you put on your table during this food festive holiday. There is so much to be thankful for.
